229 program-site listings and 47 pages, hosted by WebJIVE since February 2020
WebJIVE hosts and supports the website of the Arkansas Home Visiting Network. The network describes itself as delivering family support programs, often called home visiting, in the homes of families across Arkansas. In 2020, WebJIVE moved the network’s existing website onto WebJIVE hosting and added a landing page for the HIPPY Arkansas program. WebJIVE has hosted and supported the site since February 2020. See the live site at arhomevisiting.org.
Client background and challenges
The network’s site covers home visiting programs, a training institute, research and evaluation, resources, events and a search for program sites. A statewide network like this needs a website that offers:
- Dependable access: Families, partners and staff look up programs and training on their own schedules.
- Room to grow: Program-site listings and training pages add up quickly, and they need to stay organized.
- Secure connections: Visitors expect an encrypted connection across the site and on every domain name the organization uses.
- A support partner: Small teams benefit from having someone who handles hosting, domains and certificates.
A website that lists hundreds of local program sites works as a directory that people depend on, so the hosting behind it matters as much as the pages on it.
WebJIVE’s approach
- Site migration in 2020: WebJIVE moved the network’s existing website onto WebJIVE hosting, replicating the site as it existed.
- HIPPY Arkansas landing page: In the same 2020 project, WebJIVE added a single landing page for the HIPPY Arkansas program.
- Domain transfers: WebJIVE handled the network’s domain transfers in 2020.
- Secure connection: The site is served over HTTPS with a valid certificate that also covers the network’s other domain names.
- Room to grow: The site’s sitemap now lists 47 pages, 229 program-site listings and 99 training pages.
- Ongoing hosting and support: WebJIVE has hosted and supported the site since February 2020.

How public-health and family-support program organizations can replicate this playbook
- Size hosting to the site: Count your listings, training pages and events before choosing a plan.
- Move first, then improve: When you migrate, copy the existing site as it is, then add new pages such as program landing pages.
- Keep the sitemap current: Update it as program sites and trainings are added or removed.
- Cover every domain name: Make sure your security certificate includes each web address the organization uses.
- Name one support partner: Put domains, certificates and hosting in one place so questions have one answer.
